A Parigi, durante l'occupazione nazista, l'attrice Marion Steiner sostituisce il marito, ebreo e costretto a nascondersi, nel tenere in piedi il Thèatre de Montmartre. Per mettere in scena la nuova Pièce teatrale viene assunto un nuovo attore:Bernard Granger.
