Stonehearst Asylum
Recentemente laureatosi alla scuola di medicina di Harvard, il giovane medico Edward Newgate (Jim Sturgess) fa il suo apprendistato presso un istituto di igiene mentale. Qui, ha modo di conoscere Eliza Graves (Kate Beckinsale), una delle pazienti.
