Durante una missione spaziale, l'astronauta Tom Trimble ed il suo clone, l'androide Hermes, vengono accidentalmente inviati nel passato, ossia nel periodo del regno di Artù. Dopo essere diventati amici del sovrano, i due tentano di fermare le macchinazioni del mago Merlino e del perfido Mordred.
